Our Scarecrow is up and we are so excited about the first annual Scarecrow fest this weekend!
You may notice lots of Scarecrows popping up around Pearisburg this week. That's because the Pearisburg Merchants Association is sponsoring a scarecrow contest and festival to celebrate fall! Scarecrows have to be up by Friday and will remain up until November 1st. (We might be a little biased around here, but I think we are going to win :-) ) The winning scarecrow will be announced Saturday during the scarecrow festival on Tazewell street. The festival will be held from 9 to 5 and includes a Harvest Breakfast from 9 - 11, the vendors from the Community Farmers Market, Free pumpkin painting and games for kids, performances from Giles County School of Dance and Dance Motion as well as the Giles Community Choir, a parade at 11:30, not to mention funnel cakes, popcorn, and more! The festival will end with a performance from Crossroads from 3 to 5. Hope to see your there! For more information check out the Pearisburg Merchants Association facebook page.
